Rather disappointed so far I bought this “for dummies” book precisely because I really am one regarding using Android Tablets. I have not read this book completely, so I admit this may not be a very fair opinion. From the advice Mr. Gookin provides, I find some good advice so far but others that are not so helpful. I assumed the author would provide all the useful information to the reader on common used apps but a glaring omission described below fails to point out to the reader an obvious alternative.Gookin recommends Skype to users for making VOIP calls but completely fails to even mention Google Voice (GV) for Wifi phone calls (bizarre because GV is usually preinstalled on all Androids.) Why does it matter? Because Google Voice is FREE for making calls and SMS text in USA and Canada. Skype will not even let you experiment with its service unless you make an acct. and add a minimum of $10.00 in credits. If you use it even once, as I did to make one test call, Skype will not refund the rest of…

Thank Goodness! I got a new Zeki tablet and I needed a book that explained android tablets. This is that book. It’s from the For Dummies collection that we’re all familiar with. It covers pretty much basically what you need to know to get you started. You don’t have to read it from cover to cover, just find the chapter covering what you’re stumped with and go from there. It was a great help to me, being new to tablets. So if you.re not savvy about tabs like me, get this book and learn at your own pace. One thing though, this book covers the Google Play Store. I have the Amazon App Store installed on mine but the info can be used as the download information is the same. Good Luck!

Great read for new android tablet users This book has been very usefull in helping me to understand my new Android tablet. It has explained to me how to use the many of the features of an Android tablet. The book uses basic terms that a novice can understand, and will be very useful as a reference tool to have around when needed.Once again completely satisfied dealing with Amazon.
