As a heavy iPad 2 user, it is hard for me to write this article. I can’t believe I am allowing myself to compare the iPad 2 to a Kindle fire. But I have seen enough evidence lately that shows me the new Kindle may be a contender for Apple.

Now at this time, nobody actually has got their hands on the Kindle fire so there is no real reviews out there. Anybody that says otherwise is flat out lying. I have however done extensive research on the upcoming device and I believe that the Kindle fire is going be a real contender in the tablet market space. Not only is the Kindle already a very popular device used worldwide, but they have just stepped their game up and can now truly compete with android, apple and blackberry devices.

In the new Kindle, you can now read books on a rich, vibrant color screen. You can also read magazines, watch videos and TV, listen to music and surf the web. There is also a built in email function, cloud storage and access to millions of other applications. And this is just the start.

Looking at all the factors of the economy, the holidays around the corner and the ever increasing demands for tablets, the Kindle may have come in at just the right time. So looking at the features above, what does the iPad have that the Kindle doesn’t? Sure, I know you apple fans can come up with a mile long list. But how important are those items when you have all the advanced media functions on the Kindle. Besides, there is always the amazon app place where you can download all types of applications.

Now let’s talk about pricing. The iPad is the highest price device on the market. And it rightfully should be. You are going to spend near a grand to take the iPad 2 home today. And that’s okay for the apple nuts. But what about the people that want to enter into to tablet game for the first time? Do they really need an iPad? Don’t they just want entertainment, media and communications? At a $600 price difference, my vote is Kindle.

If you are thinking about buying the iPad2, or any other tablet, I suggest taking a look at the Kindle. I ordered mine and will have it November 15th. Who knows, I may like this more than the iPad.
